Hi, I'm Cassidy. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), and I provide individual, couples and family therapy to adults and adolescents. My private practice office is in Broomfield, Colorado, in the foothills of the beautiful Rocky Mountains.
I've been doing therapy since 2007, and have been in private practice since 2010. I love my job because I truly enjoy being invited into people's stories, and I am continually humbled and inspired by the hard work people put into bettering their lives. I particularly enjoy working with teenagers because of their straightforward attitudes and their untapped potential. I also love working with couples, because I believe in the healing power of love and family, and I enjoy helping couples connect with one another and solve issues together.
Through my own experiences as a wife, mother, daughter, sister, friend, and client, I understand that making changes is especially difficult, and I also know that the results of closer relationships and better functioning dynamics are priceless.
I am a naturally compassionate person who leans towards practicality (which means that although I genuinely care about my clients, I'm not afraid to challenge you). I deeply value the power of humor and laughter is not uncommon in my office.
Through my top-notch training at Auburn University in Auburn, Alabama, I learned many effective approaches and I can apply techniques based on what works for YOU. I have a firm foundation in systemic theory and evidence-based approaches. I am an attachment based (we are meant to connect), narrative (our stories and how we tell them matter), trauma informed (our brains are powerfully protective) therapist.
Among other professionally respected researchers, I personally find much inspiration in the work of John and Julie Gottman, Daniel Siegel, and Brené Brown.
I am a long-standing member of both the Colorado Association of Marriage and Family Therapy, and the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT).
